FRICTION, COEFFICIENT OF INTERNAL

The coefficient of internal friction is zero for clayey soils, generally close to 45 in incoherent sands and variable in rocks depending upon the state of compaction or cementation in sedimentary rocks, homogeneity in igneous rocks and anisotropy in metamorphic rocks.
