BLASTOMYLONITE
A very highly recrystallized mylonitic rock is referred to as
blastmylonite. Though the term appears to have first been introduced by
Sander in 1912, Christie is generally credited with the introduction of
the term on a regular basis. In nature there are presumably all gradations
from strongly deformed rocks where the deformation is solely of a
cataclastic nature through to these where recrystallization has
accompanied or postdated a ductile mechanism of deformation.
