BOEHM LAMELLAE

Boehm lamellae in the grains indicate a high stress regime indicating a probable metamorphic origin presumably low grade but strong deformation. They appear as thin layers or bands of inclusions in quartz that are subparallel to the basal plane or irregular planar trails of micro-inclusions more or less parallel. The quartz bears signs of in situ ductile deformation and deformation bands of fluid inclusions.
