BULK MODULUS
The strain caused by overlying load of rocks is termed as lithostatic
similar to the load of a column of water or hydraulic head. The ratio of
the load and the resulting strain is called bulk modulus which is a
constant of proportionality between load which practically constant (and
the strain being a function of time) and the resulting strain. Bulk
modulus for steel is 1.7.10^11 Pa.
