BEDDING, CURRENT
Current bedding can be used as a tool to determine the facing of stata.
The photograph that accompanies this text is by S Singh from the area
north of Udaipur, from the early Proterozoic Aravalli Supergroup rocks in
western India. The Aravalli rocks are a succession of alternating
quartzites and slates and phyllites with volcanics at the base, suggested
to have been deposited in an epicontinetal sea. The photograph that
accompanies shows the inverted limb of the major recumbent to reclined EW
trending fold. This on later superimposition by NS upright fold has given
rise to the mappable Hammerhead or Hook pattern (term by Heron, 1936) at
Nathdwara, a typical type 2 fold interference pattern
