A triangular diagram based on Nadai's hexahedral and octahedral units and published in 1969. There are objections to the usage of this plot since initial shape cannot be known and the deformation paths are oversimplified. The interpretations are based on the bulk deformation which has different strain ellipsoid shape almost at the same time and difficult to analyze.
