CLEAVAGE, BIMODAL

When cleavage generated contains relics of original sedimentary or igneous clasts which have simply bodily rotated and have undergone little change in mineral composition during fabric development, the cleavage is called bimodal. Fig is reproduced after Williams from Woody islands in which green part is a volcanic material and red a sedimentary clast and yellow the cleavage with recrystallized part and also formed by other deformation mechanisms or deformation induced processes.
