CONJUGATE BRITTLE DUCTILE SHEAR ZONES
Note that in bothe the sets of brittle ductile shear zones, the late
stage or tapering chords of sigmoidal extension veins point in the same
direction, approx. towards top or bottom of the photograph and this
direction is the direction of maximum shortening in the rock. The acute
angle is about 80 degrees which again suggests that the response is
transitional. The sigmoidality is not pronounced suggesting that the
amount of shear strain is rather small.
