CREEP, DISSOLUTION

This kind of deformation is similar to or exactly alike the pressure solution phenomenon that leads to solution or dissolution of rock minerals in the direction of the maximum principal compressive stress and deposition or reprecipitation in planes normal to this direction. As shown by Bons et al. (2000), this dissolution- precipitation creep might lead to development of crystallographic orientation.
