DEFORMED CROSS BEDDING

Photograph of a recumbent fold from Rhoscolyn. The current bedding is deformed and makes large angle with deformed bedding in the hinge zone but nearly parallel to the limb. There is a complexity in this deformation in the sense that the slip along the current bedding also occurred in advancced stages as the displacement along these of bedding can be noticed. Besides, the cross bedding strike prior to buckling made an angle with the axis of folding that caused them to buckle in a way so that some slip had to occur along them during the buckling process.
