THRUST AND TRANSCURRENT INTERACTION

Since s1 for both strike slip and thrust faults is horizontal, it is  possible for both to develop and occur in close association. Theoretically only a little difference would be required in the value of s2-s3 to increase and become less than or greater than 1 to make a fault change from thrust to strike slip.
