A volume conserving homogeneous strain, involving plane strain (one of the principal strains is zero), in which a single family of parallel material planes is undistorted in the deformed state and parallel to the same family of planes in the undeformed state (analoguous to the sliding of deck of cards, involves rotation of the principle axes).
